I'm feeling a little better today, not so flat. Sometimes I can get into a very negative frame of mind

Yes, I've not been as flat. I'm actually wondering if, rather than being "flat", I was just so chilled out after coming off AD's, my brain didn't know how to process that. As soon as I started to think this, my mood no longer felt "flat". I've been on the highest levels of AD's for 13yrs and I reckon they were doing little but agitating me.
Anyway, a quick update on the fur-babies... Missy-cat is having an op to remove a thyroid on Monday 17th. After recovery, she should be okay, although there is not a lot we can do for her arthritis. She's out in the backcourt and is looking a lot happier
Jack the dog....well, I was right after all, it is his energy levels that have dropped. His bile acid is very high, which makes a dog lethargic. This, combined with the arthritis, made him very low. Why his acid is high, they don't yet know, but it is usually an indication that there is something wrong with his liver. He is going in as a day patient on Thursday. Blood to be taken before and after food.
It's a little worrying, but I feel so relieved that we are eventually getting somewhere. I was beginning to think it was more to do with a behavioural issue. Apparently, his lethargy is worse after food and this fits with him dragging behind me on his after-dinner walk
Yesterday I had my first assessment with the specialist service for Borderline Personality Disorder. I won't write about it here as I plan to write on my blog this evening (address below)
Blessing to all!!

Thats a long time to be on anti depressants Cat, no doubt you body will take a while to adjust. Its so good to hear you are feeling better though.
What a worry with your fur babies, I do so hope they can get to the bottom of Jacks problem and that they can help him. Poor little Missy, she is really going through it at the moment.
Will catch up on your blog later Cat.
Take care

I hope things sort them selves out with your fur babies.
I've caught up with your blog ( I'm a bit behind the times here!) and it sounds very like my therapy assessment.

Many thanks for the replies. I am touched people are reading my blog. Jack was at vet today for 2 blood tests. One after fasting and the other 2hrs after food. We went for a walk to St James park and watched the changing of the guard at Buckingham palace. I'll try post a couple of pics later. The place was packed full and jack (being a people lover) thought he was in heaven. The results of the tests are next week. It looks certain his liver isn't processing properly. That might be like a birth defect and would need to be cared for using low fat foods and a couple of other things. If the readings of todays test are extraordinary high, a scan and possible biopsy is next

Sorry I haven't been around much lately. When I haven't been running around after sick animals, I have been spending my spare time setting up my blog (address below) and trawling through other blogs, which is a new things for me.
Jack wasn't due his results until Thursday but the Vet has been trying to call me today. The blood results are not good. He needs a scan and possibly a biopsy. I'm hoping they can figure things out without the biopsy as it is quite a dangerous procedure for bleeding issues, particularly when the dog is having liver problems.
As for Missy, she's back to her old self. Looking good and wanting out all the time.
My depression has been a little wobbly since my assessment, but that's to be expected. They always conjure the worst of our issues. I wont write too much here as I have written extensively in my blog.
Hope everyone is doing okay
