Today I've been feeling very flat and low. My brain is not in gear and it is difficult to communicate when I'm like this. Tiredness is partly to blame, as is the weather. the rest might be down to my reduction of Antidepressant, Mirtazapine. I've cut it in half from 30mg to 15mg and I suppose I am bound to feel a jolt as my brain readjusts. I don't feel so agitated and aggressive, but maybe this is why I feel flat/void of emotion.
It's time for a little telly before bed. Get the cat in, the dog out for a wee and, hopefully, tomorrow will feel better

I'm struggling with this flatness. Seen the CPN today, she thinks I should go back to see the Psychiatrist once I'm completely off the Mirtazapine. It's already been cut in half, but I'm wary of reducing anymore until I start to feel my mood levelling out.
The result of my MRI at the weekend is saying I need surgery to rectify discs and compression of sciatic nerve. I'm going to delay it, in case my plans to move back to Glasgow start to take shape. In the meantime, I've asked for more Physio.
Jack's due at the vets for 9am tomorrow for x-rays. I doubt they will reveal anything more than we already know, but best be sure. It's the anaesthetic that is more of a concern and the thought of leaving my poor "baby boy" with those nasty Vet people!

I can certainly understand the flat feeling, but you still get on and do things, and you have plans (even if they involve moving back to the 3rd world ) so that's got to be a good thing. I'm sorry that there is so much action on the medical front involving both you and Jack. I hope that the medical experts can fix you both up. Back pain is awful as it's so difficult to find a comfortable position to rest. If you have the secret, please share it! Best wishes to you and your darling furries. Michael

Thinking of you Cat, you know how much I dreaded my surgery, but having no more pain in my back and legs means I would urge you to go ahead when you are settled. Poor little Jack, its so horrible when we have to leave them at the vets, we can't explain to them that's its because we care that we do it.

I hope that Jack got on OK at the vet. Are you feeling any better yourself? Thinking of you and your brood of lovelies.

I took Jack to the Vet but he was sent home. Typical, he was jumping about like a puppy. The Vet wants him off the painkillers and see what happens. However, by the time we got home, he was starting to hobble. I bought a new 20-flippin-quid no-pull harness, which is easier under his front legs. He did improve the last couple of days, but I'm not convinced we've got to the bottom of it. I can only wait and see
I'm feeling okay. My scan results are showing collapsed discs, causing protrusions and compressing the sciatic nerve. There are other standard degenerative issues of the spine that are age related....tut!
I've been struggling with a persistent low mood in recent days. I slept for 2 hrs today and woke feeling a lot better. It's like having a split personality. I don't want to overdo things, so plan to sign off for tonight and get an early bed. I'm confident tomorrow will feel better
