Hi everyone,I'm new here and would like to introduce myself.my name is Sam,I'm 27 and from West Midlands.i was diagnosed with postnatal depression after the birth of my youngest child (almost 3 years ago),I was put on anti depressants which really helped for the first 2 years but then they stopped working as effectively,I was then recently put onto a higher dose and have been through a really tough time this last 4-5 months or so.the new higher dose medication has now started to work but I have noticed (also my hubby has noticed) the last few weeks I seem to be emotionally numb!! I don't feel that lingering sadness as before but tbh I don't really feel much lately.i am seeing a counsellor which is helping but would be great if there are other people I could chat with that understand Look forward to getting to know everyone xx

Hello Samantha . Welcome to our forum. Seeing a counsellor is a very good thing to do. I know it helped me tremendously. Do you see your gp regularly for a check on your medication. Maybe a chgat with him/her would help. Exp!paining your lack of emotion. They may suggest dropping the dose slightly for example. It must of been so hard for you to cope with a new baby and postnatal depression. My depression started when my children were older. We are here for you if you need to chat. S x x

It can take a while to get the medication balanced correctly, it could be worth mentioning it to your doctor, counselling is a great idea it helped me immensely, we all understand depression and will support you anyway we can xx

i found it very difficult to go back to work so hope your doctor is sympathetic.
Finding people that understand depression and can talk frankly about isnt easy so I hope you will find the help you need here as talking about things always seems to help me xx

Sorry it's taken so long to reply.i went to gp and explained how I was feeling or rather lack of feeling and he said it can be normal to feel like that when you have had severe depression and that if it doesn't start to improve I need to go back to see him again,he signed me off work for a further 2 weeks.well this last week I seem to have taken a step backwards,I'm feeling so down again, the panic attacks have returned and I just feel how I did before my meds were increased.im so confused with what's going on with me atm and I don't think I can take this much longer even the thoughts of hurting myself are making their way back into my head wondering if maybe my meds need to be increased again.is this normal or am I a lost cause? Just want more than anything to feel happy and normal sorry for such a negative post xxx

Your doctor really seems to be takng your depression and symptoms seriously (which unfortunately some dont) and I think he is right signing you off work. What you are feeling is normal unfortunately and it often takes a few weeks for an increase of meds to take effect but if you are feeling like harming yourself I would suggest going back to your doctor to tell him as its important he knows about it.
You arent a lost cause, we all feel like that when our depression is bad, it can be a struggle to get well again and I'm not going to kid you that its easy but I know its possible to overcome the dreadful depths the illness can take us to

Hi I am new too. My name is simone I am 30 years old. I on this forum because I am seeking advice to help my partner. He had discovered that he is suffering from depression and I am desperate to help him get through it. Usually he is the life and soul of the party. He is considered to be the strongest one in his friendship group but he is now falling apart and the only person he has told is me. He won't seek help as he thinks he can deal with it on his own. What can I do ?

Its tough living with and trying to support someone with depression Simone, has there been an obvious cause or trigger that started it off?

Hi welcome to the forum. Its very difficult to understand how people with depression are feeling and hard to know how to help them. Just try to listen and support and encourage them to seek help when they feel ready. Please feel free to ask any further advice.

Postpartum depression is a problem for many women. I advise anyone who has signs of depression to try CBD products.

You are absolutely right, CBD products are the best and safest way to deal with nervous disorders. By the way, now on sale you can find a unique product - cbd lozenges 5 mg orange. Just one serving a day is enough to get rid of nervous tension and get a charge of vivacity for the whole day. Try it!
