Not the best of days, one of the horses didnt look well this morning and would have normally kept an eye on him for a couple of hours but within half an hour thought it looked like sand colic which is a serious complaint. My diagnosis was correct, Jelte had two injections to ease the pain then I needed to go to pick up more medication. Fingers crossed he recovers OK
Minor crash this afternoon, not surprising so am being kind to myself.......

Hi Zaf. I hope that things have improved. Do the injections and other meds cure the poor horse's malady or just ease the pain until the horse recovers naturally? It has been a bit dull and wet, at least it has when I've been conscious. I hope that it has been a bit brighter for you, especially with the threat of SADS waiting in the wings. One of the things that I admire about you is that you are very much aware of potential problems, and you always seem to face them, no matter how daunting the prospect. I hope that you aren't troubled by ghasts or ghouls tonight. I shall have an early night, and shan't reply to any ghostly knocking at the doors or windows. Unless you know the right code. Or bring chips!

Hi Michael, lovely to see you back Thanks shaz, Jelte is on the mend by the looks of it Initially the vet gives strong intravenous painkillers and now he will be on medication till the beginnng of next week, we will have to check his poo regularly from now on to make sure he hasnt any more sand in his gut and give him preventative meds monthly for a while. Oops forgot to say, the bright weather will help a lot Michael but was talking to a fellow sufferer a couple of days ago and even though we know we need to get outside as much as we can its a big struggle as the urge to hibernate is very strong, sometimes we win, sometimes the SAD does. Menal illness of any kind really is a horrid problem Z xxx

Hi Zaf. It has been bright but very cold here. I hope that it has been possible for you to get out a bit. How is Jelte today? And more importantly, how are you? I've managed to get my referral to the mental health team for Reading. I had slipped through the cracks for a while. During the time I was in hospital, a psychiatrist changed my Citalopram for Mirtazapine. I've been very tearful for a couple of days, so the MHT are going to ring me tomorrow.
It's a little early in the Winter for me to start complaining, but this cold will be the end of me. I'm shivering like a little shivering thing. Hmmm. My imagination and creativity seems to be kaput too.
Love, thanks and best wishes always Zaf. (One of the many) Michael
