I bet it feels draining. I hate the way that different services in the same organisation cant talk to each other properly - it happens more often than you would think or hope!
Keep strong Zaf. I do hope it all gets resolved to a happy outcome this week but if there are unresolved problems you are worried about, you have a rehab nurse and a community leader right here to help you. Just ask if you need our advice, we are both more than happy to help you if we can.

A very very horrid day.
Pickle has been pts, mum is home from hospital but devastated about Rosie's injuries and that we had to make the awful decision to end Pickle's life. I know it was the right thing to do as the next attack could have been fatal, not only to a dog but possibly a child if he had got out somehow but its not an easy thing to do to end an otherwise healthy animal's life.
At the moment I am coping but only just, desperately hoping I wont crash in the next few days or weeks

One day at a time if you can Zaf. What has happened recently will take a lot of processing and your mind will doubtless linger over the events for a little while yet. You have done the right thing. It wont be much consolation Im sure, but you have. Try to focus on Rosies recovery and your mums recovery if you can, as this will help.
Im here if I can help Zaf. xx

Thanks Glen, I think you're right. Somehow yesterday feels like some sort of watershed so hopefully we can all move forward despite the awful events.
Rosie is home now and looking very poorly but she has relaxed a lot in the last few hours, just changed her dressings and given her a little water, hoping she will eat a little later as her pain killers need to be given after food.
Just buried Pickle, the ground is like concrete, as is our custom he had his collar taken off and it was put with his other grave goods (food bowl and favourite toy) possiblt sounds a bit weird but its how all our dogs and horses are buried. He looked peaceful and I stroked him for the last time, so very sad to end a young life

It must have been really tough. Ive buried many pets over the years and its always felt like I was losing a family member when I did.
As you say, its time to try to move forward now if you can. Sad times like these have a habit of lingering on the mind if you give them the chance, but you are stronger than you think Zaf.
I hope the last few months of the year are kinder to you. xxx

Its never easy to say goodbye to one Glen but the circumstances this time were articularly difficult. In a way its a good job I have Rosie here to nurse as its taking a fair bit of time to keep er comfortable and all her wounds attended to.
Many tanks Glen xxx

I'm glad that I put my cats on paper with the pastel drawings I did last year. It's almost like a way of immortalising them.

This has all been so difficult for you. All our passed pets are buried in our garden, couldn't bear to think of them anywhere else.
I am pleased to hear your mum is home, I do hope things are going OK.
Love and caring hugs for you and Rosie.

Today I had to rush Rosie back to the vets, the pain killers seem to be disagreeing with her and she is passing blood otherwise she seems cheerful despite her horrific injuries and having to wear a collar to prevent her licking her wounds. Physically mum is doing well but still seems very confused at times but I am popping in to make sure all is OK several times a day and to check she s taking her meds at the right time. Hoping things will settle down a bit, I could do with a few weeks of normality for at least a few weeks Z xxx

Poor Rosie, its amazing our resilient our animals can be, after all she has been through. Did the vet give her different pain killers?
I do hope things settle with your mum, she has been through an awful time too. Must have been frightening for her.
You need to rest when you can, I know this must be very difficult with caring for Rosie and your mum. You deserve some quiet time after all that's been happening in your life these past few weeks.
Caring hugs for you.
