Its the toughest time for you with all the waiting and uncertainty. Once the op is done you will have a better idea of what recovery will be needed, and this will ease some of the stress I hope.
Im always around to help / advise you if I can Zaf.
Take care - we will be thinking of you xx

Still no op, we are all finding this very tough now as we feel she is being overlooked because of her age. I have to admit to having sat and had a bloody good cry a few minutes ago. I can feel depression creeping back which is worrying too but if I start to feel worse I'll see my GP.
Many thanks Glen

Its normal to feel this way under the circumstances Zaf and having a good cry is a good place to start venting your emotions.
Keep asking them questions. Anything you don't understand - ask. If it doesn't sound right or you cant be sure you understood the way they put things - ask me.
I hope they get the op done soon. xx

Mum has had surgery at last, now we have to hope there are no complications or long term damage

Now the recovery process can start.
The hard thing about recovering from this type of event is that the rehabilitation needs to start as early as possible - often when the patient still feels poorly. It can be tough and Im sure there will be testing days ahead for both you and your mum, but people can and do recover - Ive seen it many times. Obviously there are times people don't do so well, but try to think positively if you can. You would be surprised what people can recover from given the right help.
Just ask if you need any advice Zaf and I will try my best to help out.

I can remember when my dad was in hospital the only time I didn't feel anxious was when I was actually there. It was knowing exactly what was going on rather than having to accept what someone on the telephone was saying. The staff on ICU were brilliant.
Hope things start to improve xxxxxxx

This has been such a horrible time for you, your poor mum should not have been treated this way. As others have already said, the healing starts now. I am glad you had a good cry, you need to get your emotions out. I am always here for you.
