Thanks Glen and Shaz, I think perhaps overtiredness and his awful heat is largely to blame.
One of my horses is ill today and the pony still on box rest because of her fall, it never rains but it pours....

Today I feel fit to scream, stamp my feet and throw a temper tantrum. Largely caused by the idiots at the inand revenue - we sent our returns in well over a month inside the deadline and payment over 10 days in advance but we still got a threatening letter saying we would be fined and have to pay interest as neither had arrived; my blood pressure rose another notch trying to negotiate their ridiculous telephone system for over 3 minutes then another 25 minutes on hold. The last straw was to be told all our paperwork had arrived in June but had not been logged onto the system but that our payment had been mis-allocated, I was then transferred to another department to an incredibly unhelpful man (who sounded as though he too had lost the will to live) who told me it had actually been paid into the correct account. Fuming is probably a huge understatement as not only have I wasted 3/4 hour on the phone because of their inrptitude but Jan stayed in case I needed her so thats 3/4 hour overtime and my blood pressure has gone through the roof  |

Good God Zaf, once again the "powers that be" are totally incompetent, and they have no comprehension of how their failure impacts on people. You have been in the right all along, yet you suffer, and they just get away with it. I hope that your blood pressure rapidly returns to normal, and that they learn from their mistakes. It's nice to be proven right, but it feels better if you can rub somebody's nose in it!  Best wishes Zaf. |

I am sending a letter of complaint Michael which I shall copy to our MP, its bad enough being unpaid tax collectors but getting hassle when we have done nthing wrong is beyond a joke  PS Michael, woud you like your cat avatar back, I miss it! |

Oh Zaf, what a day you have had, what total incompetence from the Inland Revenue! They should be chasing the ones who don't pay  .

Thanks guys Ive drafted out a letter complaining inwshich I told them I think I ought to be billing them for the time wasted yesterday, it wont get anywhere but will also send to our MP too. Ive got to the state where I feel if we dint compain to someone in authority no one is going to know of the shortcomings of supposedly publc services. The horse and pony are improving slowly thanks Michael, just waiting for the vet bill to arrive now Feeling very tired and a bit despondent, hopefully I'll start to feel better during the day Z xxx |

I do hope today is better for you Zaf. You are right, if no one complains then things like this will go on and on.

Dear Zaf, you have been under a lot of pressure recently, and you have had to struggle against imcompetence of the IR, as well as doing their job for them, the illness of your animals and all the other stuff, including supporting everyone here. Sometimes, when the pressure is released, people find that all the strength that they have used to hold themselves together and is no longer immediately necessary can take a brief holiday. You have shown incredible strength, and it WILL be there for you when you need it again. You are not just a fighter, you are a WINNER! Bless you.
